First Wednesday Night Lecture Series

Wednesday, November 5, 2008 - James Baraz, author of Awakening Joy is the guest speaker on Buddhism as a Path of Happiness.  

Wednesday, December 3, 2008 - Dr. Douglas Sharon, author of Wizard of the Four Winds and producer of award-winning film "Edward the Healer," will talk on Shamanism and Syncretism in Peruvian Traditional Medicine.

Lectures are open to the public and free of charge.  An optional pasta dinner is served at 6:30 p.m. (Adults $6.00/children free).  Call 510-526-3805 to make dinner reservations.  The lectures begin at 7:30 p.m. in Haver Hall.

Third Wednesday Night Bible Study program on "Interpreting the Bible Poetically."  Carolyn West and Ron Sebring will lead the study group.  The program will familiarize participants with Bible content, present progressive interpretive principles in light of poetics, and explore the role of the Bible in spiritual formation.  Tentatively scheduled to begin October 17, 2008 at 7:00 p.,. in the parlor, pending enough people.  Call the church office of you are interested.

Sunday, October 12, 2008 - Writing Our Stories - The group continues their creative quest in Writing Your Life, 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.

Saturday, October 25, 2008 - Northbrae's Annual Bazaar, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Haver Hall.
