Religions seem to be drifting away from the center of contemporary life, except when they seem to suddenly flare up with some sort of message, promise or threat. How is it that these ancient ideas continue to beguile, confuse, infuriate, heal, divide, and unite us? What do world religions share, and how do we honor their differences? And how do spirituality and religion interact?
Northbrae Church is offering a class on world religions for people who are curious about religions and who wonder about the way they give life meaning. Each month we will look at one religion, focusing first at the traditional pillars of the religion, and then at its art and mystical expression. The classes will be led by the Northbrae clergy and staff, joined by artists and seminarians. The classes will be offered on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month from 6:30 to 8:30 pm in the Chapel. They are free and open to the public. Join us in inquiry and exploration.
