Northbrae is a community center as well as a church. We are a gathering space for the entire surrounding community for a wide variety of functions. We strive to serve everyone in the community, no matter if affiliated with Northbrae or not, no matter if religious or not. We are here to serve.
If you would like to rent space from us for any type of function or community gathering, call the office or visit the rental section or our website. Below are examples of the individuals or groups that use Northbrae and are not part of our church programs.
We host ongoing meetings for ten 12-step groups, several music groups, meditation groups, a theater group, toddler singalongs, puppy training classes, a camera club, retired teachers, and the League of Women Voters, to name a few.
We host offices for the Cazedero Music Camp, the Chaplaincy Institute, a climate scientist, a UC Berkeley researcher, the American Association of University Women, and two therapists. Dandelion preschool is on our property.
We provide our chapel for weddings, memorials, funerals, baptisms, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, Jewish High Holy Days, Quinceaneras, and other religious ceremonies.
We provide Haver Hall for individual functions such as anniversaries, receptions, community gatherings, governmental meetings, seminars, workshops, and similar gatherings. We are a central polling location for Berkeley.
We partner with the Berkeley Fire Department as a central community gathering space in case of an earthquake or other major emergency. We are an evacuation location for Thousand Oaks Elementary School.
We welcome groups to use our meeting spaces for social justice, racial equality, climate change action, youth involvement, and other community social action.
